Jane Oury - remembered by Speen Helping Hospices - February 2021

Jane moved to Speen in 1996 and was involved in many of the village organisations. She was a great supporter of Speen Helping Hospices and had been planning a fund raising event for the 2021 Annual Christmas Market, when sadly she passed away on the 5th February 2021.

Because of Covid-19 regulations the number of people who could attend her funeral was limited, however it was live streamed from The Chilterns Crematorium at Amersham.

Her family requested donations to Medical Detection Dogs and Speen Helping Hospices. The SHH committee is very grateful for over £750 of donations that have been made in Jane's memory.

In 2023 Dennis Cook of Village Environmental Services was the the main sponsor of Speen Festival 2023. (Dennis has also provided event boards for the SHH Annual Christmas Market over the years). In the programme - his message (above that can be opened as a PDF by clicking on it) he said "I first came to Speen on Fete day over 12 years ago to clear a drain for a lady in Chapel Hill. That lady, Jane Oury who sadly passed away a couple of years ago, became my agent and introduced me to many fine people (and some bad) over the following years"
